Dust off your passport and pack your bags! Here is a sample itinerary for guests traveling abroad for the wedding… The bride’s family will be following this schedule, so feel free to join us for any portion of the trip!

Monday, June 20: Depart JFK (overnight flight with layover)

Tuesday, June 21: Arrive Dubrovnik, Croatia

Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik (known as the “Pearl of the Adriatic”) is a beautiful ancient walled city and UNESCO World Heritage Site located on the Adriatic Sea. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Dalmatian Coast, with beautiful architecture, beaches, and historic sites. Many people will recognize this location as the setting for “Kings’ Landing” from the popular television show “Game of Thrones”.

Upon landing, guests can take a bus or taxi from the airport to the old city “Pile Gate” and settle in to respective hotels. Enjoy the evening walking around the old city and dining on fresh food and wine.

Wednesday, June 22: Dubrovnik, Croatia

Free day in Dubronik to swim, explore the historic sites, walk the wall, or take a boat outing to Lokrum (Peacock) Island.

Thursday, June 23: Dubrovnik, Croatia – 3pm transfer to Medjugorje will be provided

3pm: After a morning in Dubrovnik, guests will meet and travel together by bus to the small village of Medjugorje (approx 2.5 hours drive).

During the transfer, information will be given about the history of the area and background information about Medjugorje, a place of religious pilgrimage for over a million people each year… It’s also the place where Josip & Christina met!!

Upon arrival, guests will check into respective pansions. A short walking tour of the area will be given to orient everyone.

Friday, June 24 / Saturday, June 25: Medjugorje 35th Anniversary Celebration

June 24 and June 25 are among the most beautiful days in Medjugorje. It is a time when this small village fills with thousands of people from all over the world. This year Medjugorje will be celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary and numerous activities will be taking place – a list of events will be provided upon arrival. Some sites to see include: Apparition Hill, Krizevac, the Annual Peace Walk, Mary’s Meals, Anniversary Celebration, Cenacolo, and more.. For anyone interested in learning more about the apparitions, a tour guide will be available for our group.

In these days we will also visit Josip’s village, Gradnici!

Sunday, June 26: Free Day

Options outside of Medjugorje:

Kravice
On a hot day, there is nothing nicer than visiting and swimming at “Kravice”, the waterfalls that are a 20 minute drive from Medjugorje.

Historic town built around Neretva River. Mostar is known for it’s old Turkish houses, winding street markets, and Old Bridge. 40 minute drive.

Beautiful beach on the Dalmatian Coast. 2 hr drive.

Monday, June 27: Wedding Day! St. James Church Medjugorje
